Day 11 - Mauriac to near Figeac

What would have been a quite tricky 60 mile (95km) day with lots more climbing turned into our most difficult day of the trip, mainly because we were completely worn out from the previous day.

Fortunately our friend Dave Paine cycled with us all day, which helped to keep spirits up, and also we knew we were heading for his home for a much needed rest day.

So with over 1000km under our belt it was wonderful to enjoy Dave and Angie's home cooked food and waking up this morning in idyllic surroundings knowing we don't have to ride today.

  1. have a good rest warmed by the news that I just found out that there is a Law in Portugal that specifically states that the State is obliged to pay all medical and ancillary costs relating to the treatment of Portuguese citizens abroad for cases in which there is no treatment available in Portugal. The only snag is that Tiago's doctor refuses to sign the required paperwork, but I will take care of that, believe me.

On SIC, live, this afternoon with Tiago's parents, at 3pm. Tell Eunice!
